Recently, I got a new telephoto lens and decided to go out find something to photograph. My destination was Boundary Bay in British Columbia, a breathtaking spot near the American border that’s a haven for photographers and birdwatchers alike. Known for its diverse wildlife and stunning vistas, it’s the perfect place to immerse yourself in nature and capture some incredible moments. While I’m far from being a bird expert, I thoroughly enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone and photographing subjects I don’t typically focus on. The undeniable highlight of the day was a short-eared owl, which made an appearance just minutes before sunset, captivating everyone around with its graceful flight. Although the owl was way too far, even for my telephoto lens, the experience of witnessing such a majestic creature in its natural habitat was unforgettable.
